No kidding. Have a little compassion for others maybe?

I'm a healthy neurotypical able bodied gay man who isn't caring for anyone going through health scares, so I'll essentially never benefit from schedule accommodations or paid leave type things. Yet I support them because my circumstances allow me to be flexible where others cannot be

Cannot be or won't be? There is no disability or illness in the world that makes it so someone physically has to eat dinner at the same time every night, that's as ridiculous as saying you "need" to wear an orange shirt every day and getting upset when your company asks you to wear a uniform that's blue or something.

Hell that reminds me of a time at one of my old jobs we had several women who would spend a solid hour or more of company time in the bathroom chatting and playing on their phones despite the several breaks we had. When the manager finally told them to stop since their bullshit was putting more work on everyone else they immediately went to the old "oh, you're a man, you don't understand, we can't help it if we have to go to the bathroom for that long that often!". So he told them to get doctor's notes showing some legitimate urinary issue or to fuck off, simple as. Sad he had to even get to that point with a group of grown women but it worked and suddenly they were cured.

Her playing up her symptoms or outright inventing one to get special treatment, or getting so complacent from the special treatment already given to her that she thought it was an entitlement and not a favor is the far more likely situation than her being some poor little invalid who can't function without dindin at the right time. I mean just think about the person who would sue for this much in the first place, it screams entitlement.

Before reading anything I was like damn that's a lot, maybe 150-200k would be better, then says it will be reduced to 300k...I'm fine with that. That's many years worth of pay for just being fired.

125M but she only gets 300k? What!

Makes way more sense than 125M, no way that's justified.

If you want to fine Walmart an amount in the millions (possibly even donate the proceeds to charity), maybe there's an argument for that, but to give one person that much isnt necessary.

I'm not sure where you draw the line for "need" but meal timing regularity is part of treatment for some mental and physical conditions.

Severe GERD treatment requires timing meals to be a specific time after taking medication, and finishing long enough before reclining (going to bed) to ensure the stomach is empty, and this duration can be lengthened if also suffering from gastroparesis. Those recovering from eating disorders can benefit from meal timing regularity.

what an ignorant statement

there are many diseases and disorders that make it so that someone cannot tolerate or have extreme difficulty when it comes to changing their daily routine.

I get that people have preferences, some have very strong ones, but this case isn't even like that. If walmart had been giving the lady crazy, unpredictable hours everyday and she had some specific pill she had to take an hour before eating or something but never knew when she would get home to eat that would be one thing. There is simply no reasonable explanation for why she couldn't have just adjusted her dietary schedule to fit with her new work schedule. If she was too stubborn or whatever to do that then she should have taken the time to look for another job and quit instead of just ignoring the schedule to the point where she was fired. Again it comes back to entitlement, who thinks they can just pick their own hours at a place like walmart without approval from a higher up, probably screwing over her coworkers by her own selfishness. I wouldn't be surprised at all if she was deliberately trying to get fired to with antics like that so she could try to pull off a heist like this.

Not an excuse. She worked there for a decade and a half, clearly she's not some helpless invalid incapable of figuring out something as simple as eating at a different time.

Not as rude as you. Some can do stuff. Some need a lot more help. Youre acting like you know she could eat at different times. But you dont. Youre just assuming. If she won the case, then there was probably a legitimate reason why she couldnt eat at a different time. Youre the rude one here. Not Rev

And considering she won her case, the assumption would lean toward her being unable to do so without potentially serious repercussions to her health.

I don't see how any reasonable individual could draw a different conclusion.

Meanwhile dealer and executive bonuses remain intact, while telling the employees to blame the lawsuit.

Yeah I used to work for walmart. I am scared of going back. I felt pressure to skip breaks to get everything done or get yelled at. I am not sure it was a good place to work.
