Hasbro? You mean the gigantic toy company with billions of dollars in assets?

Why does it need to crowdfund anything?

Because this isn't something they can sell in stores, takes up too much space. This way they're guaranteed to make money and make it worth their time, plus everyone who wants one can get one, there's no downside to doing it this way.

post above you.

in addition over producing wouldnt make any sense for them and its not an item they expect to ship to stores.

crowd sourcing is often used to get an exact headcount for the product with maybe a little safety stock for late backers.

Its the exact same process only youre funding the project before hand as opposed to reimbursing the producer.

For 400 bucks, that is a hell of a deal.

An anime figure of the same size with almost non of the features would be 5-10 times as much

I mean, look at this one >_>

If anything crowdfunding is the better option since everyone that orders within the next couple months will get it at the same price. You're not forced to play the retail game trying to beat out scalpers.

Not fair to compare, people generally don't jerk off to western action figures.

I have a figure of Galactus made by Hasbro that looks too much like this that onlu cost $50 years ago.
It even talks and lights up.

Sure, not 32 inches but still, $400

so long as you are fine with just doubling or tripling, I think you could do that within 1 year of release. then it will probably stay flat for a while (few years).

I wouldn't call it a deal. Even big boob anime girl figure for $150 is overpriced.

But I guess it is worth paying so much for a niche figure of a char that has insane fans as the price of resale will be more.

Guess that is the case of this too due to limited number made making that not sound so bad.

I admit I overpaid for a Dark Knight Shadowbringer figure but the run was really limited.

It's a very gaudy colour that makes most things utilizing it stand out even more than they otherwise would, and you should at least try to not make people pay attention to your silly cringe as fuck nerd toys when they visit you.

Because I'm not immune to societal impulses. But how is that related to your claim of toxic masculinity?
