Geiki Ganger 07/14/21 1:30:50 PM #1:	I thought the movie was going to contain twists that explain the decision to wait so long for a Black Widow movie when it should have been released before Infinity War. There were none. Rharyx211 07/14/21 1:43:04 PM #5:	Because they didn't think people cared about female superhero movies until Wonder Woman did good, and by then it was late 2017. By the end it was basically just a movie because Scarlett Johansson really wanted it done, not because it was going to tie into the main plot in crazy ways. And to be honest, I can kinda see why: She doesn't have powers and isn't really a standout personality. Still, the right talent could have made it work. --- I don't hold grudges. Oddly enough, the late timing I believe is the exact reason the movie was made. The MCU killed off Black Widow without establish a successor. This movie retcons that by giving her a sister. Yelena, simply put, is who Black Widow would be if the MCU were rebooted today. She's less sexualized, more action-oriented, and a funnier character. She even takes time out to mock Black Widow for striking over-sexualized poses when she should be fighting and feels icky when she attempts it herself. Again, a funnier character. I give Scarlett Johannsen credit for sticking it out and playing Black Widow in so many films, but I've always felt like she was miscast.
