The joy on drift is literally why I stopped playing my Switch. Its frustrating having to buy extra joy-cons just to be prepared to have to send any set in at any time for repairs regularly.

The crappy little analog sliders inside have gone through several part numbers already, presumably in an attempt to not be so crappy.

The only reason I'd buy a new Switch model is if they change the joysticks

As a life-long Nintendo player I'm frankly disgusted they issued them in the first place

Making any kind of changes to the sticks will be used as evidence of Nintendo acknowledging there is an issue with them in the court case.

No chance this gets fixed at all with the new version

It's because they know they fucked up but also know they have soo many blind customers. If they acknowledge it, they'd instantly lose all the lawsuits against them over it.

They're just waiting till they lose the lawsuits on their own and I hope they do.

I had to do this with my Switch Lite and stick to the regular one because it's a limited edition.

Cool story bro, I'm sure many people have Joycons that haven't drifted. There's a reason the lawsuit against Nintendo over this has the Pro Controller in it as well.

sadly the only fix i have had for my joycon drift was a 40 dollar left joycon.

i feel like a sap, but i did buy this console 4 years ago and 40 dollars for a 4 year old device isn't that bad...

I mainly play Splatoon 2 on the switch and I know a few people who are on their 3rd (and more) pro controller. The pro controller isn't that much durable than the joy cons tbh

Sending in controllers is annoying af but between my gf and I we have 4 pairs so thankfully we've never been joycon-less. Wish they would just fix it. I'd shell out money for ones that wont break.

I played smash with my old gc controller for 16 years straight and never had a problem with it. Played the switch in less than a year and both my left joycon and pro controller has the drift. Fucking bizarre.

why would a new model fix it? if Nintendo wanted it fixed they would have done so after they had to repair all those other ones for free...for the longest time pro controllers and joycons were out of stock. they had time to redesign them and fix the issue...they chose not to. Why would they suddenly do it now? to push it as a new feature? that would be even scummier.

That doesn't mean anything. It only matters if they're manufactured the same way, and evidently they're not, otherwise you'd hear way more about pro controller drift.
Or you hear more about joycon drift because Switch comes with joycons so everyone has them while far fewer people have pro controllers...

Nah, they happen with the Switch at a much higher rate it seems. I still have my original PS1, 2 3 and 4 controllers with no drift. Used them a lot. the 360 controller i have is working perfectly. Hell, even the sticks on my WiiU and 3DS work fine...Nintendo cut costs with the joycons somewhere and its affecting them heavily.
