I know how you feel. I marathoned 1 through 3 on PS4, so that I could jump to 4 as soon as it came out. I burned myself out doing that. Even after waiting the 6 months for the PC version instead, I drudged through 4 sooo slowly lol.

The series does a good job of subtly suggesting who the "canon" interests are by how they react in their final bonding events. Alisa is canon. I've seen enough Slice of Life anime to know that it was set within the first 30 minutes of the game. She's the first person you meet, you have an accidental slip, and she acts tsundere for the next little while. Classic anime tropes.

My second playthrough was mostly cheating by leveling with shiny bait. Hopefully I can breeze through it. The Vermillion Apocalypse fight might be an issue since it requires everyone and there's no way to level them all efficiently

If you want to breeze through it, stack Rean with speed and Impede/Delay things (1,2, whatever the gem was called, maybe the MQ with it, and Sharon's accessory if you have it) and spam Arc Slash/True Arc slash to delay bosses so they barely get to act. It rolls the delay chance again for each source, and if any of them succeeds it acts as if they all did so it gets far better the more you have. True Arc slash is as fast as a normal attack so if you get one delay off, you should get several chances to get the next success before the boss can act again.
Maxed Moebius is broken too if you really want to trivialize a fight with S-Craft spam.

Yeah that's what I've been doing. Unfortunately the final boss is immune to delay

I missed that scene in CS2 and I had no clue what they were talking about in CS3. I legitimately felt like I missed a game.

CS3 and 4 are going to be much more difficult to 100%, too.

Agreed. I definitely did not want to play through the entire game again just for the black records. Didn't realize it gave extra scenes until they kept referencing it and I'm like "when did that happen!?"

The beautiful part of CS3 and 4 is that I basically just relegated Rean and the rest of Class VII to the back row and let the new characters take their place in the front row. Like, fuck you guys. You had 2 full games to build yourselves up. You're getting punted.
