Remember when Nigel Farage and his band of idiots whipped themselves up about Brexit being their "independence day", despite 1) the EU being an organisation they were free to leave at any time, as opposed to a colonial force they had to go to war against to self-determinate as a nation, and 2) Britain being responsible for the independence days of 57 countries who suffered genocide and colonial rule for potentially over a century of British occupation each, to which their "struggle" with the EU completely fails to compare?
America is a hot mess at the best of times, but I would argue that Brexit as an "independence day" is much stupider than American independence. --- But I don't have to make this mistake, and I don't have to stay this way.
