I don't know if it's just my soundbar or if it's a common issue with others but I have to crank the volume up pretty high to hear dialogue, and then it's too loud for action scenes and I have to lower it.

bruh if you got a halfway modern tv it has a volume leveling option specifically to combat this

A pair of *good* computer speakers can be a compelling alternative to a sound bar. May take up a bit more room. I used the Bose companion 2 speakers on my tv and loved them. Sadly they blew out one day.

better than the built in speakers? yes, definitely, especially if you get one with a sub.

now is it better than regular speakers like bookshelf speakers or standing speakers, etc?

sounds like bass too high and possibly mids/treble too low

Yes, bro. Dont listen to these surround sound house in the suburbs dudes. A soundbar
is ALWAYS an upgrade over a TVs shitty speakers.

Soundbars are a nice middle ground between the dogshit speakers that modern tvs have built-in and the proper speaker system that hasn't actually changed much in fundamental tech over the years but is still prohibitively expensive and space-sucking.

If you want better sound and don't want to spend a thousand dollars, get a sound bar.

If you hate clutter, get a sound bar.

If you want really good sound, spend a thousand dollars.

Damn. Same. Also mine will hit rock bottom sound output randomly during tv audio and dialogue, but I have zero problems with that happening when playing video games.

shits weird and Id def rather just have a surround sound setup, but the bar mostly works fine

I thought this too and have checked it but even with tinkering it still happens
