It's so abrupt and ridiculous that I'm not sure anything else compares~~ Another Stephen King story that's less often cited, Needful Things, ends with ~~the main character suddenly getting the power to summon various other Stephen King monsters and send them at the villain. Particularly if it's arterial, because the pressure of the blood helps prevent pathogens from entering. ~~Arya~~ got lucky, sure, but it's not so improbable that it requires a deus ex machina.
