29 y/o Karen Cunningham is a grad student at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and her professor installed a CRIB in his lab so that the student who is also a new mom can bring her daughter to class with her which has now gone viral!!

She was coming back to school after having a baby and her biology teacher, 54 y/o Troy Littleton wanted to make things easier for her so he asked the 9 other grad students to chip in on a crib where Karen could put her 10 month old daughter, Katie there

He shared the photo of the crib on twitter that quickly went viral and prompted a discussion about resources for new moms

MIT actually officers on campus daycare but it was shut down due to COVID-19 which made it hard for Karen....

She said "It was really stressful to have the world shut down in the middle of our pregnancy, then give birth knowing we were going on this big adventure without all the infrastructure we needed"

She and her husband Steve welcomed Katie to the world and planned on him being home with the baby but things come up and he has to leave or she has to leave and they are stuck..

So Troy enlisted her follow grad students to go in and travel for a crib to buy so she can bring her daughter with her

He said "Child care in any profession is a challenge, but in science, it can be even more challenging. Experiments don't always fit a 9-5 schedule,it just made sense for Katie to bring in Katie."

He was delighted when she came into the lab with Katie and wrote "My favourite new equipment purchase for the lab, a travel crib to go in my office so my graduate student can bring her 9 month old little girl to work when necessary and i get to play with her while her mom gets some work done. Win-win!!!"

Many twitter users applauded him while others weren't so kind stating the US has parental leave laws and childcare systems in place that would render his kindness unnecessary

Karen however is grateful she can bring her child with her to work but agreed that there needs for a change for childcare to be better handled in the US and often falls on women to take the tough choices
