I had no idea what the fuck was happening 90% of the time.

The plot is actually easy to follow, but to make sense of everything that is happening in the fight scenes and choreography is a real doozy.

The Tenet.

Im glad Im not the only one who read the topic title like that lol

i actually enjoyed the movie. I gave up trying to understand the mechanics halfway through the initial explanation at the shooting range and just hung around for the ride lol.

Yeah, the concepts were neat. I just wish I knew what was happening, or at least had a character to connect to.

Lmao I fucking love this video

Sad part is that this is definitely Tenet in a nutshell. Just piling more unnecessary tidbits and shit about the mission and the Russian villain on top of an already frustrating time-bending plot structure.

So, reverse objects are found. Bullets fly in & out of guns based on the user executing their intent. If you dont know the object is reversed, it will only go one way because you have to perform the opposite action to get it to do the trick. That is not something anyone would think to do. The only other reversed object seen are the ingots the villain plays with briefly.

Some reverse objects never get tampered with because they are part of a reverse timeline, which is extremely confusing. They can theoretically be tampered with, but that never happens because the time cops stop you. Make sense? This is what the entire movie is about.

What most viewers dont realize is that reversal is not perfect & there is a window of time in which the object spontaneously manifests (such as when the protagonist randomly starts bleeding). Another example is that the sequence itself is not always exact, evidenced by when the shutter door doesnt reverse back to normal or how the villain sort of drops off the map at the end of the plot. So, not everything reverses perfectly, things can pop in & out of existence like quantum mechanics, and you can create a loop & escape the loop at the end.

From there, the movie unfolds into this quest to obtain an algorithm that will reverse the flow of time for the world from a certain point, allowing the people of the future to invade the world of the past (effectively ignoring the time cops). Their world has been ravaged & ruined by war & waste. They want to basically create a new timeline.

I imagine once they near the end of the algorithm, they plan to reverse it again and go through the future, stepping on their own toes in an endless loop.

There are machines that allow people & objects to go reversed. There are also windows that allow people to view into the reverse world.

Reversed people ignore some laws of physics. Namely the mystery forces like gravity & photons. Everything else is reversed, like oxygen, so they require special suits to breath because they are atomically wrong.

Confused yet?

Now add action scenes w/dialogue exploiting all that ^^^
