C/D: You learned Bible stories as a kid.

C. Pretty extensively, though when I recently read through a comic book adaptation of the Bible it became apparent that there were a ton of stories that are not commonly covered.

D.

I think once as a kid I had this bible picture book, read up until the part with the ark, and got bored >_>

literally the only time I've read anything from the bible, or bible-adjacent

my family was never very religious

My dad was atheist and raised me as one, but he also gave me a very basic knowledge of all the world religions so that I could pick one should I feel I should.

Mainly the sanitized versions, though.
I tell ya, nothing makes a Christian kid question his faith quite like reading the Bible for himself.

what makes you say that
Because having a decent understanding of the Bibleeven if if the vast majority of it never happenedis necessary to be an informed and educated person in the western world. If you treat it as something written for a purpose in a particular historical setting like any other culture's myths, it can be quite entertaining, especially when you understand its historical background and what was going on in the Middle East at the time.

I went to a normal public school and in kindergarten we did a school play of Joseph and his multicolored-coat. Looking back I think its pretty f***ed up we had something so overtly religious forced on us in kindergarten. Had us singing bible verses n shit

nope. and i even did religious stuff as a kid. but trust me, none the stories ever really stuck besides whatever they've made mainstream movies out of.

though it's impossible to find stories nowadays that don't share similar things (tropes?) so we kinda all basically learn without wanting to anyway

I think you guys are conflating job training and an actual education. Seriously. How in the world do you think that a well educated person in the Western world can be someone that knows nothing about the Bible?

Yes, I love bible stories. It's a testament to how GOD used to interact with the world.

Used to love watching these as a kid as my grandma had the whole set. Have fond memories of watching these while eating oatmeal that my grandma made me as a kid. One of the greatest times of my life and one of my most cherished memories.
