I really like Professor Layton games. They're wacky in a fun way and while Layton isn't a complex character he's charming and the contrast between his almost cynical skepticism and Luke's bright-eyed naivety is cute. Unwound Future is obviously the best game in the series but I still like the first one a lot and have played it through three times.

Very conflicted about this one, it is a good emotional core and fun scenes in a wrapper of silly nonsense. I still have fond feelings towards it though.

I remember the twist clearly but otherwise it was a pretty standard fare Tintin-esque plot. I prefer the 2nd and 3rd game's story but not by that much more.

The puzzles are the main draw to the game for me but I think I've had enough by the time I was done with the trilogy and have no desire to play any Layton games in the foreseeable future.

It honestly is not very memorable, and I feel like the game relies mostly on aesthetic (which is admittedly great) to cover up a kinda-but-not-intolerably bad story. Pretty bland until the ending which is...sort of worth it, but not really. Don't get me wrong though, good game, just not for the story.

I literally remembered "I haff tvelve metchsteek" before anything about the actual plot
