It's kinda like the role Jubilee played in X-Men: TAS and... I think Magma played in X-Men Legends 1, although I can't remember if it was actually Magma or just a mutant with similar abilities. Basically it's a take on the Watson character, where you have somebody there just so things can be explained to them. Kamala Khan is kinda shit, though. Even more shit since it evokes the fascistic VP whose office delayed paroles/early releases because they were concerned about the prison labor force.
