My local school district gets wackos calling in too. I remember when people were trying to stop schools from showing an "Obama addresses students" videos. My local superintendent got a psycho call about it.

Hell, even I'm not familiar with Critical Race Theory, specfically. Is it related to Intersectionality, perhaps?
In any case, it seems to be the boogey-man term for teaching anything about how dreadfully racist the United States of America is and has always been. To be fair, this is true of all notable powers.

As I understand CRT takes the position that America is a white supremacist society / culture, and that white supremacy has been built into our laws, customs and norms.

For example, in the 1920s or 1930s when redlining started in real estate, it was done so black neighborhoods could be easily discriminated against based on address. CRT proponents will say that modern day zoning laws, such as only single family home zoning in an area, is evidence of white supremacist culture to keep affordable housing options out of an area.

The second step is doing something to dismantle the white supremacist policies.

While I do think it's a great thing to get people at schools and jobs to understand this, as a person that's been apart of many of these classes over the years, I think they could do better at teaching it. At least the ones I've been apart of. But it's just getting started, the teaching of it and how to handle things will only get better, I hope.

So critical race theory stems from critical theory which stems from Marxist philosophy. It started off as a movement to reexamine race as it pertains to social, cultural, and legal issues rather than personal ones. Modern CRT is a statistically based science (social science) that examines the impacts that cultural and legal changes have in regards to race, i.e. "Cutting the school budget by 5% has had an uneven negative impact on Black students, and here's the data to prove it." CRT has been challenged throughout the 80's for its anti-color blind approach to racial issues. There absolutely is a narrative behind CRT, but there is also sound science and reason behind it as well. CRT is just one tool to examine racial issues.
Here's an easy one, "removing polling places in predominantly Black areas disproportionately affects Black people." This is a change in law, the outcome is measurable, it's effectively codified racism regardless of intent (which is to grab power, in best of assumptions). It's really easy to see how this change removes power from some people and gives it to others, CRT just looks at who those people are and measures it (and its continuous effects).

Some of the things taught under the umbrella of CRT are fine
Some of the things taught under the umbrella of CRT are sus
and
Some of the things taught under the umbrella of CRT are quite bad.

Most of the decent inclusivity stuff is already captured in basic human decency teaching, but it is possible some places in the south might view some perfectly normal inclusivity talk as CRT agenda or something dumb.

Basically if it's something you could imagine hearing MLK say, it's really good and positive, if it's something you couldn't imagine somebody like him saying, there might be cause for concern.

I'd have to see what specifically she's pushing back against to see if what she is saying is valid or not.

The topic of CRT as a whole is as simple as "hey a bunch of the people on top are white and a lot of the people on the bottom are black, I wonder if their races play a part?"

The backlash against the topic as a whole just reeks of snowflake parents not wanting their children to learn critical thinking skills.
