This is a really dumb post and suggests to me that you don't cook anything more advanced than frozen food It's not rocket science to figure out why someone would be intimidated by cooking, and what's funny is that you nerds would immediately jump on someone if they happened to make a mistake and screw up the recipe. This is a really dumb post considering the topic title has the words "cook basic food" written in all caps. Besides, I fuck up cooking all the time. I've burnt the roux for gumbos, broken the shortbread for pumpkin rolls, or, to take it back to basics, overcooked a fried egg. Point is I'm and adult and don't let that "intimidate" me, as you put. If I fuck up some food it's not a big deal, I learn from the mistake and try not to repeat it next time.
