Overall I think I'd give it to Fallout 4 honestly. Outer Worlds was the most consistently okay game I think I've ever played.

i tried replaying fallout 4 recently and was surprised at how bad the dialogue is, the roleplaying portion of the game is very bad imo

I play Fallout 4 if I want to hang around with Cait and build bases. The story and roleplaying is shit. It's a terrible RPG, but a decent FPS.

Much as I hate Fallout 4 for Skyrim-ing their quests among many, many other faults, it's definitely a better game than Outer Worlds.

Never played Outer worlds but Fallout 4 was extremely mediocre. All roleplaying elements were non existent and it was just a big budget action/building game. It's nice for some people but for RPG fans it was a big disappointment.

Fallout 4 had a large amount medicore stuff to experience whereas Outer Worlds had a smaller amount awesome stuff to experience.

I think Outer Worlds was a more solid effort in creating a game world considering what it accomplished as an original game.

Fallout 4 kind of leaned on other, stronger games in the Fallout franchise without offering anything that moved the game into new territory. It has it's moments but I consider it's entire execution a missed opportunity.

It just blows my mind that after al these years Bethesda still can't write a good main story. They basically crammed a character with a pre-determined backstory down player's throats at the cost of actual role-playing and they dumbed down everything about the game for casual appeal.

Outer Worlds at least had the lessons of Fallout 4's failures to consider when it was being made. It's a shame it wasn't a more gripping experience.

Heh this is literally how I would sum up Outer Worlds as well. It just leans on some stuff from Fallout and Mass Effect but in worse ways. It just never quite got there for me.

Fallout 4 has its own issues and is overall a bit uninspired. I hope they ditch these premade stories and main characters. But overall I still like their open world and combat much more than Outer Worlds.

Pretty much agreed. I enjoyed Outer Worlds a lot more than FO4.

After everything is said and done, FO4 is slightly better due to it being a continuation of a bigger universe.

Yeah, I like to rag on FO4 a lot, but "consistently okay" is a good way to describe Outer Worlds. It just comes, then goes, and you don't feel like replaying it again. OW should've been the Fallout killer, though, and it didn't live up to that mantle.
