Wage workers got an extra 2 dollars an hour, which our store decided to say fuck you to and got rid of it after the first couple months, because fuck me if I'm allowed to bank a little extra during a pandemic. We also got fucked because during Feb. of last year we got a "loyalty" bonus for being with the company for 2-3 years, which was around 800 dollars. Which unfortunately made us ineligible for the essential workers bonus for unknown reasons. It's honestly hilarious. If we had a legitimate reason we couldn't work, we could sit at home and bank like 15-20 percent more than if we work full time part time hours (which amounts to 37 hours a week as min. wage jobs purposely don't want to give you full time hours as it means they have to pay benefits). But because I didn't have a good enough reason, I was forced to work during a pandemic for less money than the guys who had 1 reason to stay home. And you would think our store would have a reduced customer load because of the pandemic. Not true at all. Sure it started off that way, we only allowed 100 in the store at one time, but that quickly and I mean quickly grew to unlimited, though they would never admit that. We had a limit of 800 people allowed in the store at once, and barely any of them were socially distancing. Seriously, fuck that company. Their entire cart pusher department all quit at once, forcing them to hire on more people. We were all essential during Covid and understood we were probably going to get it eventually working in the Lab but we did it to protect our communities. We were not paid a single penny of a bonus. My management gave me hell because I contracted Covid, as well as others. This created a hostile relationship between my management and I, I was even threatened and it thus resulted in my resignation. To this day Im still unemployed and I never applied for unemployment money because I dont believe in doing that. I did America a favor, and those in charge spit on me.
