If you suggest that assholes exist while quoting someone, the mods will say you were clearly talking about that person you quoted.

Meaning for instance if some CEgal made a post about a jerk at work and someone quoted them saying "people can be asses" well good job, you're liable to get modded.

And yeah, mods always know 100% of the context of conversations, that's how they know exactly what you really meant no matter how much of a stretch it would be to literally anyone else if shown the post.

I understand why fundraising is moddable, you let one person fundraise and suddenly everyone's plugging their GoFundMe and patreon and the like. I think the rule stems from the old internet stigma against "e-begging", but like I get it.

With that being said, I'll gladly take some e-begging any day over transphobic users getting NKLs while the people who complain about it get suspended, holocaust and race "realists" who downplay horrific violence and genocide under the guise of "just asking questions" and users who outright admit to grooming teenagers on the internet and whose understanding of sexual consent by age steers towards "kids being mature enough to make their own decisions".

Mod history is one thing, but sometimes you need to see something really slimy and disingenuous the once and take real, solid action on it to prevent it from taking hold and fucking up the community. And again - it is understandable as to why fundraising is frowned upon on here, because then everybody's gonna want a piece of the pie and you're opening the platform up to potential fraud. But if you're gonna be that vigilant on fundraising, it'd be really nice to see users preaching about "black on black violence" or immigrant birthing rates getting hit with the same fervor. I'd rather spend time on a platform where everyone's like "subscribe to my *taboo fundraising platform*" than one where users are trying to preach and normalise the idea of white genocide.

Though I'll throw this out to the community - instead of falling for the next garbage racebait or what have you, can we seriously just mark it and move on instead of letting those threads get hundreds of replies?

Nah it was years ago. I think I used an e instead of a and it spelled daft or something like that.
