after skimming the article, basically it's saying that it would monitor how you play and then mimick your playstyle as close as possible if you want it to take over for you.

I could see something like this being cool when it comes to fighting games so you can "use yourself" an opponent, but I don't really see the point otherwise.

This would be good for MMO games with lots of time wasting grinding, or games that have a lot of boring repetitive tasks.

The patent also covers the possibility of a game being able to notify a player if they are struggling to complete a task that the AI can assist them with. There's even the inclusion of identifying such tasks as being completed by the player with assistance from the AI.
