Yeah, the pace isn't so slow that binging is necessary... but there's also not a ton of mystery and speculation to participate in each week, so you're not missing out by waiting. It's a fun show. Definitely watch when ready.

I couldn't get past the first fifteen minutes of episode one tbh. Falcon just went way too OP and Sebastian Stan is a terrible leading man.

Was she even in anything else? I didn't recognize her.

I thought they might've been talking about that French(?) dude at the end, cuz I thought I recognized him, but I still have no clue who he was.

EDIT: Oh, looks like that lady's a character in Black Widow, the movie they planned to be out by now when they wrote this show so her appearance here would've made an impact. Nice.

She's actually a completely different character, has a history with both Hydra and Shield.

it was always teased as an mcu debut. she was only supposed to be familiar to comic readers.

and the french guy at the end was Batroc, from the first fight in episode 1 (and also against Steve on the boat at the beginning of TWS)

I'm sure with him it will be deadly. He seemed to be stronger than the flag smashers and bucky/sam individually

I'm almost positive they are. I'm halfway expecting the mid-credits scene of the last episode to be Thunderbolt Ross asking Zemo and/or Walker to join a team he's putting together.

Plus he's in Black Widow as well so I can see Taskmaster joining them too.

I really love how Walker called the military the fuck out for putting him in a shitty situation with a ton of pressure, only to throw him under the bus when he became a liability.

Really hoping we see more of Wyatt Russell's John Walker in the MCU after this show.

EDIT: Also just looked it up...that Joaquin Torres guy actually became Falcon in the comics while Sam served as Captain America....so yeah. They're definitely going in that direction with him.

Loved the episode. I feel the lesson for Sam will basically be - yeah, the legacy of the shield and America itself it complicated, but thats why he needs to wield it in all its tarnished reputation. Like an acknowledgment of past evil instead of excusing, shying away from it or acting like it doesnt exist.

I agree with him calling out the military. Though some things I felt this episode were cheap furthering a heel turn. Such as lying about who killed Lemar and constantly saying I am captain America. Makes him come off more crazy than in over his head.

At least by executing the flag smasher who was surrendering we could say he was a guy in a position he wasn't qualified for and let his emotions get the better of him. Now he's just coming off as crazy

Damn. Julia Louis-Dreyfus just walking in and taking that scene over.

I don't cotton to the idea of the serum just "making you crazy". I feel Lemar was right in the serum being "more of you". Problem is that John already has a considerable military history behind him that Steve didn't, which comes with plenty of baggage AND he's being told that now he has to live up to the memory of the world's most popular patriot.

...Yes, thats what I said. Steve was inherently good, and the serum made him more heroic. Walker was already crazy and felt entitled to everyones respect and admiration, and the serum is amplifying that. Hes more like Red Skull than Steve.

I like how Walker's voice cracks when he gets mad at people.

Sharon Carter being the Power Broker is a pretty neat twist. Wonder how that's going to play out in the finale.

I really dislike Bucky. I am someone how complains about police, don't like authoritarianism. But Bucky has gotten me to said with fucking John Walker. John has been asking for their help all season. And when he messes up. Bucky literally want to fight him , when he John is trying not to fight. And Bucky have done a whole lot worse than kill a nasty terrorist.

I feel like he did that so he would not let down Lemars family. His killer got away. That would be another blow to the family.

Walker wasn't wasn't awful guy at first. He meant well but he had trauma, a temper and was desperate to live up to the role of captain America.

His failure to do so and the serum drove him towards madness with Lamars death and his very public tarnishing of Cap's legacy/Dishonorable discharge were the final nails in the coffin for his sanity.

Really cool to see Julia Louis Dreyfus in a more serious role. I've always said that comedic actors make the best dramatic ones.

Interesting to see the parallels between John Walker and Isaiah screwed over by the government, but while John was shown off as an angry, entitled white man who believes the world is his, Isaiah just comes off as defeated and bitter over the injustice done to him.

Jeez, knowing he did the exact same thing as Steve and was punished makes Captain America: TFA seem like a disney adaptation of a normally dark folktale.

Just like I suspected, go to the lowest rated imdb reviews for the episode and you see a bunch of racists losing their minds.

All i want is more Bucky/Ayo/Wakanda backstory at this point.

If Wyatt Russell doesn't get his own series off the back of his performance in this show then it's a fucking travesty tbh.

I suppose that if he doesn't have his own show they could put him in Thunderbolts if/when that happens (not sure he's been in their line-up at any point in the comics, but I would allow it just because he's been absolutely brilliant in this).

He didnt receive a dishonorable discharge. It was an other than honorable.

Ngl, seemed like a boring episode but actually ended up being pretty chill. The fight was a great way to start the episode.

Loved seeing Julia Louis-Dreyfus. Was actually a super wtf moment for me because I never expected her to be in something like this.

I think Walker is gonna end up being a gray character. The thing here is, you're supposed to think he's gone crazy and can't reason anymore and he's ignoring everyone. But it seems the people closest to him are supporting him, instead of acting like he's some freak.

I legit don't understand how they keep saying how the Legacy of the Shield is complicated. The flag? Absolutely. The Shield and the embodiment of Cap aka Steve? No. Steve never cared about race or creed or religion. Hell he chose Sam in the first place. Cap was on ice when Isiah went through what he went through.

Steve only ever cared about doing the right thing. I get that they had to .ake it about the Shield when Sam gave it up but still.
