My tolerance and patience for children is very low. I think the infant and toddler phase is cute and I do care that children are being cared for and nurtured. I just have my limits. Will not be producing.

All of those activities (any activity really) are literally 1000 times better without kids though
They aren't though, as someone that has experienced them without kids and with, I can assure you they are at the very least just as fun, but usually more fun.

In my experience as someone who has, believe it or not, actually seen and even interacted with children, I stand by my statement. I cannot think of a single activity that isn't more enjoyable without having to entertain and chaperone a monster the entire time. Know what else is amazing? Not having to explain literally everything and constantly derail meltdowns
You sound like someone that has actually never interacted with children, which is probably for the best. Please don't ever interact with children it won't be good for them.

The world would would be a better place if only people who truly wanted to raise kids wanted them. I'm talking about people who read child development books for fun and spend their free time volunteering to help children. It's such an accepted norm to just pop out kids that many people don't even think before having them. Even worse when it's an accident.

Honestly they don't even stay young and cute for very long, most of a human's life is spent as an adult. However people always gush about the infancy to childhood phase but often lose steam once their child becomes an adolescent. If I ever have a kid it'll be through fostering or adoption.

It's pretty fun and rewarding. Not for everyone though and I wouldn't judge people for not wanting them. Got 2 kids, one daughter from a previous relationship and a stepdaughter. I couldn't be happier with my family

I think that if my life had played out differently, having kids would be a more realistic goal.

But Im in my mid-30s, never had a steady girlfriend (lord knows Ive tried ) I work a shitty job that definitely doesnt pay enough to support a child. I only just got an associates degree so i have a feeling its going to be a very a long time before I can get like a real job.

If I had like met someone nice and maintained a relationship for a decent amount of time, actually got more education past high school right away, maybe it could have happened. But realistically I think I missed the boat on that.

But at least Im smart enough to know its not for me instead of having a kid for the sake of it without being prepared

Thats our setup too. We have 2 kids and I take care of the home stuff while my husband works (growing up lower middle class I dont spend a lot even though we are upper middle class). My kids are never in trouble at school, in fact most teachers think they are the sweetest kids.

The worst of it really, is when they're infants and cry every few hours.
Do you feel bad about forcing someone into existence who is going to end up suffering and dying?

I never understood why people assume that every kid is some sort of spoiled, ill manned brat who is constantly screaming all the time. They see the worst examples and think that the average kid is like that. >_>

Like I understand if people don't want kids because "I cannot financially support them." or "I don't want to waste my time taking care of kids, I want to have fun." but when people start saying stuff like "I don't want to take care of a screaming little shithead." it's like they don't have to be one. lol

Its hate speech towards children. It's disgusting and pathetic but demonizing children makes it easier for them.

IMO Having a kid is terrible if you aren't well off and live in a good neighborhood. Even then do you really want to bring another soul into this world to suffer given the harsh direction the world is heading in? That is the biggest moral dilema I have when it comes to having kids.

Im gay (most likely wont adopt either) and I think having a kid must be one of the most, if not THE most, fulfilling things out there. You create, with a partner, a child that shows your genetic qualities, and you have the opportunity to shape their life (to an extent) and witness their first discoveries, achievements, and the like

This post is nauseating and reinforces that me and my partner will absolutely never have kids tbh

My parents 'shaping my life' and 'witnessing my first discoveries, achievements' are basically all of the worst memories of being a child that I have
