I get more enjoyment out of Tommy Wiseau than anything Zack has ever directed. 300, Watchmen, Sucker Punch, Man of Steel, Batman v Superman, and now the Snyder cut of Justice League are the worst movies Ive ever seen.

I think experienced big time directors like Zack should be held to a higher standard then just any director doing personal and or small budgeted movies.

With which him and Micheal Bey are certanly bottom tier as far as they go.

Not even by a longshot. I think he's a good visual director, but sometimes he's so far up his own ass, that he films become unbearable. But he's not the worst director, not even.

Obviously not the worst film director of all time, he can totally make a decent movie. Snyder cut was way too ****ing long and had at least one really hamfisted cameo that completely undermined the entire movie, but was still pretty good overall I thought.

The bigger issue is that he seems to be directly associated with "comic book adaptation" despite the fact he doesn't seem to understand any of the comics he adapts.

Snyder cut was good and all, but Snyder still doesn't understand Superman.

I think the worst part is Michael Bay had a major character walking around with a specific Texas statute in order to justify the an adult being in a relationship with a minor.

You'd have to be nuts to say that Zack Snyder is the worst director of all time. Saying that, if I had a choice between dying of liver failure and only being allowed to watch Zack Snyder movies for entertainment for the rest of my life, I would strongly consider the liver failure.

I do think it's obscene that he's handling 9-figure movie budgets and shitting out the sort of stuff he's shitting out, but that's more of a personal opinion and a shot against Warner Bros. than anything else - and frankly, saying that he's the worst director of all time is like saying that Rebecca Black is the worst musician of all time. It's a stupid, short-sighted complaint that's trendy.

I do think he's my least favourite superhero director. If he wants to do super gritty, overly stylised superhero action movies, he could do some good work with whatever edgy Dark Age comic book characters DC could scrounge up from Image or Vertigo. I'm not a fan of his take on Superman, and it bugs me that we're going into a future where Cavill's Superman is the norm. But having been a fan of Best of the Worst in the past, I can't reasonably say that Zack Snyder is the worst director of all time. He simply isn't.

I don't think he should be handling piles of money that are larger than any of us will ever see in our lifetimes to make massive franchise movies, but at an absolute baseline, I've seen worse movies than whatever I've seen from Zack Snyder. They're movies that have been staffed by idiots or incompetent directors/screenwriters/actors, made on a budget so small that the funding for BvS could probably have funded them 100 times over at least - but fwiw, they do exist.

you're probably confusing produced and directed by. The movies jj actually directed are the two star wars, super 8, star trek 2009, anatomy of hope, Mission impossible 3, and some tv episodes.

And while i'm sure Wheedon isn't the only reason the justice league we got was so bad, seeing a lot of the footage that was cut, there is a good 2 and half - 3 hour movie in the already shot footage.

I like 300.
Watchmen was watchable
Sucker Punch was disappointing
Man of Steel had decent action scenes, if nothing else
BvS was predictably bad
I threaten my teenage children with forcing them to watch the Snyder cut if they don't do what I want. Works like a charm so far.

But worst? lol not in a universe in which Uwe Boll and McG exist.
