California Spanish Teaching Heifer, Nicole Burkett has sparked outrage after she used an eye gesture while explaining RACIAL STEREOTYPES against asians in a Zoom class!!

She is also a student advisor at Grant Union High School in Sacramento who is under investigation when she made the gesture which has gone viral on tiktok

She said "If your eyes go up, you're Chinese. If they go down, they're Japanese. If they're just straight, you don't know"

She said she was trying to explain a racist school yard taunt caleld "Chinese, Japanese, Dirty Knees" in the 90s as students of her class have DEFENDED her claiming that it was taken out of context.

She has now received DEATH THREATS as school officials have condemned her actions and said an investigation is underway

Darris Hinson, the princial of the school said the video was shocking and disappointing and doesn't represent their values held by the school

Several parents spoke out against her including Maria Sepulveda who has 3 kids and accused her of reinforcing divisive behaviour and attitudes

A Change.org petition demanding an apology and 200 hours of community service for Burkett has gained 6000 signatures which was started by the Sacramento Asian/Pacific Islander Regional Network

She has declined to comment on the scandal as Burkett is also an advisor to the KOREAN POP MUSIC CLUBS of the Lao Xang Noy and KPOP group

It just comes hate crimes against Asian Americans is on the rise in part due to former President Trump's rhetoric on China's part in COVID-19 targeting all asian groups..

It's hard to know how out of context it was taken considering we don't actually have the context... I do find it weird that she'd feel the need to teach an older racist schoolyard taunt to children whatever the lesson was, and I question if there wasn't another way to get the lesson across. But again, we don't actually have any context to decipher intent here.

Explaining racial stereotypes is racist now? How are kids supposed to learn that racial stereotypes are bad if you can't discuss them in the 1st place?

It does seem to be outrage for no reason here. The teacher is doing her job and that is teaching. These rhymes exist so what's the problem with educating on why not to say them? Is it best to ignore the questions she's been asked or history just because snowflakes want to rewrite history? I think not.

I had a teacher legit pick on my Korean friend and accuse him of eating dogs and stuff. I remember saying "dude. not cool." and then he sort of awkwardly claimed he was joking but my buddy didn't really care, he just thought the dude was a dumbass.

It's possible that it was taken out of context if her students are saying it was but obviously at least one person was put off by the fact they screen captured part of it. I'm surprised their software doesn't have a function that blocks screen recording even from external apps.

I mean why does this sort of stuff surprise us anymore. Whether anyone likes it or not America is and has been an overtly racist country and it's not relegated to the US. I've traveled overseas and some of the European countries I've been to sad to say are also racist as well so that's nature of the beast sad to say.
