Marking you more doesn't mean we can't handle different opinions. It only means we're returning the fire we've taken for years and years. A conservative's ideal is free speech for everyone, outside of threats/violence etc. etc. But thats not the environment we're in currently. So now we're marking too, and the mods to their credit are doing their jobs, though they likely don't want to.

Good examples, and its hard to disagree. They also shut down any speech which disagreed with the invasion in the leadup to the iraq war. Both sides have their mechanisms for suppressing independent thought. Maybe I am atypical among those on the right.

The MAGA board would have been fine and would still exist today if it weren't for the constant blatant rule violations. But no, conservatives have to play the victim and claim their right to free speech was violated when they never had the right to free speech on GameFAQs in the first place.

How community boards work is if something gets marked, and it isn't dealt with in a certain amount of time, by the community mods, it gets forwarded to the gfaqs mods. If this happens enough times, the admin shuts the board down, for lack of proper diligence and care. The mass-markers knew this and were marking every single post in many topics, violation or no. gwwak, one of the comm mods, was lazy and would delete whole threads as a result, many of them perfectly legitimate discussion topics. Thus, they derailed the board's original intent. This scheme began ramping up in intensity after the election, but before Jan 6th.
