Against players using a mouse and keyboard? How does that work

And then the aim assist can become cheaper than a M+KB. Like in GTA 5 where it's actually easier to get through a lot of content with full auto-aim and a controller because you just snap to targets and can finish them quickly.

That game does it pretty well, basically lets you choose your own aim mode and then if you're playing online it lets you get as strict or relaxed as you want about joining matches or other sessions with other aim modes.

What is crazy is that M&K players have been complaining about Controller players since Crossplay has become a thing because Aim Assist aims for you and takes no skill. This is from even the top players at times.

Also, CoD, along with other games like Destiny 2, give you aim assist when you plug a controller in on PC

Im sure there is a way for people to trick the game in thinking you plugged in a controller when it is a KB&M with some mod but outside of that? Nope. You have to select your input before you get into a match. If you try to change inputs within the match, the game wont let you. It grays out the option and if you plug in a controller mid match, the game will tell you that you cant use it.

That is how it was in Modern Warfare anyway

I don't like that the auto aim exists at all, but I'd do it if I cared about these games enough. It would be incredibly frustrating to lose to people because they got a boost for choosing a worse option.

Quickscoping, one of the dumbest elements of Call of Duty, basically only exists because of auto aim

Also in low visibility situations the slowdown/pull from aim assist is a huge advantage

I heavily disagree with that. Sure it was popular with controllers but it was easy to pull of on KB&M too. It just took slightly more skill. Its still being done today on KB&M on multiple game series not named Call of Duty

Dumb shit where, in console CoD at least, you abuse the aim assist using a sniper rifle, aim and fire before the scope is even fully visible

I know it's a thing that people have done for years in other games like Counter-Strike but the aim assist in CoD makes it stupid easy

Actually that is slightly incorrect. You always had to fully scope to quick scope accurately. That misconception about you not needing to full scope became popular because the death cams, which didnt accurately portray what happened, showed people quickscoping without fully scoping in, aka black scoping, which is not accurate
