Getting rid of all diseases and viruses sounds good on the surface but I feel like there would ultimately be unforeseen issues that would arise of it, life usually seems to balance itself out one way or another.

Not even unseen in this case. Viruses like bacteriophages attack bad bacteria that would otherwise hinder lifeforms that contribute to keeping us alive. Getting rid of harmful diseases like cancer and covid (and probably most diseases in general) would likely be a huge gain with no downside. But viruses are a necessity. Except covid lol.

my initial post referred to bacteria and viruses in general, suggesting that eliminating all of such would have adverse consequences

even bacteria which are common and even beneficial in one part of the body can cause serious diseases when introduced to others; i'd imagine a similar case can be made for viruses, but i'm admittedly not as informed on the matter

Looks like this causes cancer, irritable bowel syndrome, and other diseases. Its only benefit is to protect against other diseases, which is pointless if there are no other diseases.
