You mean in Japanese language? Only game I played in Japanese was a rom of Pokemon Gold, before it was out in US. I remember being confused about there being so many damn Bellsprout in that tower.

Not that I can remember but I'm sure theres been an H-game or two since I've played quite a lot of them in japanese.

I didn't play anything in japanese as a young kid and once I hit my teens theres the internet to look stuff up with so I could only realistically be stuck in some super niche game that no one has written a walkthrough for.

yes, all the time. I had to look up fan translation hacks in order to at least try and learn what to do. Spoken Japanese, I might have been able to figure something out, but I can't read it to save my life

I had a Japanese copy of Legend of Zelda Oracle of Ages. The battery in it died as well and I was a kid so I didn't know I could replace the battery so saving was impossible. I think I got up to Spool Swamp at best and only after playing the English version.

Anything else I've played in Japanese I have definitely given up on though because I like to make somewhat informed decisions.

I remember playing the Super Famicom River City Ransom sequel (long before translations existed) and getting frustrated because I couldn't understand any of the text.

I rented the japanese version of SM64 before the N64 was officially available. it had a surprising amount of english, but the main dialogue parts were all japanese, but mostly nothing that really mattered for gameplay purposes. you just couldn't tell exactly what npcs were saying (I guess like the penguin asking you to find her baby) but it was definitely still playable.

I fiddled my way through advanced wars 1 before I got a translation, was just trial and error.

tbh never played a game in japanese. I can read hiragana/katakana so I could at least look it up, but I'd have trouble with any kanji.
