The fight animations are god damn beautiful and cool looking, everything else of the anime is standard shonen fare

I went to the Violet Evergarden movie but not this. Planned to go to Eva 4.0 and then they delayed it again. I like Kimetsu no Yaiba but it's not the god of anime to me.

I didn't drop it but i completely agree, the pikachu dude with the "i'm op when passing out" gimmick is so god damn infuriating, he's as bad as minetta from MHA

I watched the first 3 episodes and it just seemed like a regular ass anime. To this date, cowboy bebop is the only thing I can seriously watch or have on and not cringe when other walk in on it

Agreed, Zenitsu just absolutely destroys my enjoyment of the series. His existence alone dropped my score for the show from an 8/10 down to a 5/10.

Demon Slayer was really good. The manga is already finished and it doesn't overstay its welcome like most shounen by doing arc after arc after arc.

It's got better power scaling and passage of time than most shonen. Tanjiro and friends don't just become better overnight at any point. He has to train really hard for months or years.

Nothing particular special about that even as far as shonen go.

The only manga I'm keeping up with is Kangen Ashura. It's like the anti shonen of manga. Most of the roster are older adults from their late 20s to mid-late 40s. Eho are the best of the best in their own rights. With fights that could go either way no matter who's fighting.

I also enjoy that despite their age they still have potential, aim to become stronger and develop as characters still. Something, alot of shonen like to pretend arent things for adults anymore. As if they've peaked as soon as they pass some arbitrary age like 25 or something.
