Loves to make villians suffer horribly? Like they are geniune sadists who like to make the villain's life hell? I already know Punisher. One of these types

Count of Monte Cristo. The original revenge porn thriller. The man makes it his life's ambition not simply to kill or defeat his enemies, but absolutely humiliate and destroy them and what they hold most valuable, through a painstakingly crafted master plan that he puts together over a decade.

Kenshiro.

Everyone who opposes him usually ends up broken and left in a puddle. Usually they get taunted right before this happens about how there is nothing they can do about it.

Man on Fire is the best revenge book i've ever read. The movie was awful, it completely cuts out the last third of the book (the best part, and the whole revenge arc). I've never audibly cheered as many times as I have seeing the bad guys get their comeuppance in such creative ways.

Also, Without Remorse (i've only read the book, so I can't attest for the movie) was incredible as a revenge book with bad guys you want to die in the worst possible ways (and they do die in the worst possible ways, one was particularly creative), my favorite book of his next to The Bear and the Dragon.

Massive spoilers
In the book, the little girl he was protecting actually dies (in a super fucked up way), he basically goes on a training arc, then proceeds to slaughter the entire criminal org that was responsible for her death, one by one, and he lives in the end. The movie had him trading his life for the little girl's

Kurama from Yu Yu Hakusho comes to mind when he trapped Toguro in the Sinning tree which caused him to have pain and hallucinations for the rest of his life, which happened to be for eternity.

makes sense why they changed it then. it was already a bleak movie from the beginning and to keep the tone without any redemption arc is too much for some audiences.

Bleak is the half of it

after she gets kidnapped, the bad guys leave her ducktaped up in the back of an abandoned car, the MC finds her to have died from suffocating on her own vomit from heat stroke

The whole "making them suffer" kind of rules them out of being truly heroic to begin with tbh.
