Corrupt a wish isn't really an original concept.
Also it's not really corrupt a wish because the wish itself isn't really corrupted. Theres just a cost to the wishes determined by the villain. 84 had issues but I don't think the core concept was really one of them. I don't mind having a concept like that for a superhero movie because the standard must beat up bad guy trope is tired to me but it was really just very poorly written. The first WW movie was great - though I think Gal Gadot is a little weak as a lead, but she works well enough when its decently written.

Why didn't Lord just wish for more money? Why go through the entire convoluted process of having to touch people to indirectly grant HIS wishes. It would've been fine if he unwillingly became the wishing stone, but...yeah.
