I think people would have been more skeptical of cyberpunk if the expansions weren't so darn good.

Witcher 3 wasnt that good. 2077 is a much better game. W3 was a buggy mess at launch as well

CDPR doesn't need to be a one hit wonder. 2077 is bad because of corporate constraints. If they had the time they actually needed, 2077 could've been amazing.

2077's failing lies largely on the higher up and not the devs.

Witcher 3 was released in 2015. And the last expansion was released in mid 2016.

They really screwed themselves showing that teaser so early and giving that 2020 release date. Should have waited til at least 2022

I've enjoyed Cyberpunk (on PC); I just expected more from the Lifepaths and the level of choice in the quests more generally. I didn't expect much from the AI or environmental interactivity (although to be fair, they did promise a lot even in those areas). I expected some jank too, given their previous games, but not as much as we saw in the PS4/XBO versions.

The Witcher 1 and 2 were good in terms of story, characters, dialogue, atmosphere and even choice to an extent (despite a more defined character in Geralt), but definitely not that great in terms of gameplay (especially 1).

Unless they do some serious updates it will always be a "what could have been" game. You can definitely see what they were going for

Everyone that has high hopes that 2077 will run well on these consoles are delusional.

There's no reason it couldn't run well. Just clear wasn't given proper attention and released too early, then the state it was in was lied about to everyone.

Witcher 1 and 2 were mediocre at best. 3 is okay, it has shit combst but a lot to do and lots of lore so it balances out a little.

No one seems to remember Witcher 3 had a horrible console launch, on par with Cyberpunk's, but for some reason CDPR gets excused.

witcher 3 and the season pass is basically the size of 2 games anyways so quantity wise, they're not 1-hit wonders at all.

alsol, W1 and 2 were both quality RPGs and too early to tell how cyberpunk will shape up and right now it's just a good game with a lot of bugs.
being unable to play =/= bad game just like how many people weren't able to play arkham knight on PC at the time.

Nah, once the bugs are gone the humor and amusement will be gone. All that will be left is the bland, souless, and boring game everyone on Steam dropped after a week.

I don't see why not. It wouldn't be on the level of the current gen or PC, but other games have managed it.
