Also, I need to play Persona 4, especially since I have Golden on PC now. Should be a PS4 game too...because I'd like to play that on PS instead. Well...maybe on PS5 lol

so i got p5 on a whim. new to the series. other than joker i don't like anybody so far. i cleared the first dungeon. castle. thing. i don't care about blondie or girl blondie at all and the cat is annoying. can i drop these guys later and put people that don't suck on my squad?

Order I played the Persona games:

Persona 3 FPS
Persona 4
Persona 5
Persona 5 Royal

And Im currently playing Persona 4 Golden for the first time. While Persona 5 has my favorite cast, Persona 4s is definitely a close second and it feels so good experiencing the game again.

Naoto, Chie, Rise, Yukiko and Teddie are far more fun and interesting than Yukari, Fuuka, and Junpei. Maybe Junpei is up there but he's kinda a whiny sexist bitch in P3P

Yeah I'd rank it up there. Dragon Age Origins and Mass Effect 2 are some others.

I like the Persona 3 cast but it felt like you were distant from them for most of the game. Which was sort of the point I suppose.

Id have to replay 3, but most of SEES felt like they barely existed outside the main story.

4 and 5 giving their casts more of actual personal lives unrelated to the plot made them more endearing. The game is already bloated af with like, a million hours of game time, so they may as well use it to explore the cast more. <_<

though 3 also had the benefit of not having a pretty egregious sin that brings the whole vibe down. Yosukes homophobia was way over the top, even if Kanji did manage to get a few jabs back at him. And the way the 5 cast treated Ryuji was fuckin gross. Like he doesnt even feel like their friend. <_<

I really need to finish Tales of Berseria. I played like a couple of hours and LOVED it but ended up not playing it. I don't even remember why I stopped.

I've yet to arse myself to play 3. That said i preferred 4's cast to 5's including the social links.

4 is unique to me out of the Persona games because it doesn't have any characters in it I actively despise. Yosuke can be really annoying sometimes and Yukiko is boring, but nobody approaches people like Ken or Yukari in P3, and while 5's cast is overall really good too they have characterization issues that keep cropping up now and again and driving me crazy. Especially in the middle of the game.

4's biggest failing is the expository dialogue writing. The people who wrote that game's script are really big on giving you frequent encapsulations on story progress, and it always makes it feel like characters are figuring obvious story stuff out hours after the players do. There's a part after the Yukiko dungeon in 4 that I always think about when it comes to this where it seems like Yosuke just wraps his head around the concept of the tv world that Teddie has explained to all of you thirty thousand times at that point and it just makes you roll your eyes
