It looks like there are a couple of people in the running and race is not the sole factor in consideration. If he gets the part, I'm reasonably optimistic that he'll be James Bond and not some guy who constantly talks about being Black so you know how progressive the producers are. This has been demonstrated time and time again every time characters are made specifically to appease the woke crowd and then the game or movie ends up bombing. The people complaining have no actual interest in the product, they just want to stick it to white guys by ruining things they like since they want to blame white guys for everything that is wrong in the world. Making a white Bond won't effect movie ticket sales at all. There will just be whining on Twitter. Race swapping a 50+ year old character, that is based on real life people, will effect movie ticket sales. I mean ffs, just make a black 00 as a sidekick for a movie or two. In the entire franchise (not counting No Time to Die since it isn't officially out yet) we have only ever seen one other 00 besides Bond. Completely different actors, but they're always James Bond. Anyway, I've never heard of Rege-Jean Page before, but from the pictures here, he doesn't look like a "badass secret agent" type of guy. And neither does Tom Hardy to me. Idris Elba or James Norton would fit the "badass" role though. But I know people would be up in arms about "Bond should only be white" if they went with Idris.
