This kid not only grew up in a strange time and continues to live it as we have conversations like these where hell be judged as this or that too. He has parents who are probably fueled or fired up after being literal witnesses to disgusting behavior and some kind of closure that might not even feel like closure at all. The police killings are stinging reminders of a real reality that affects them. He gets taught to be the best and free because its time, but I guess he feels like its not for him and he did this as the result

The real question is if it seems silly that the parents shouldve met up and discussed this and whether or not that wouldve actually lead somewhere better than this alternative - Im inclined to say yeah, but then again if this was a latino kid who did it because some girl said some racial slur I wouldve said fair, next <_<

The fact that parents cant sit down and just talk about this without this much chaos happening in between is really a great indicator of how much these conversations have changed for both adults and kids

Its like the education system failed to let students know the implications of both their actions and things like racism - her parents too I guess >_>

maybe the boys parents failed to let him know how to effectively educate others in a more immediate way (without waiting years)

Seems like the opposite of removing power from the word. When this shit makes news. This aint a case of someone using it in a hateful way. Im white, I dont use the word when singing song to shit. But this is some surprised pikachu shit if you didnt think some white people would. You can find clips of Eminem using it when singing along to one song on stage. it seems to me like a very important aspect of her life (possibilities of going to college) has significantly worsened

She's going to a community college, meaning she can pay little to no money for the first two years of her BA before transferring to a 4-year university to complete it (possibly even University of Tennessee). Acting like her life is ruined because she's not longer going straight to a mid-tier state university is fucking hysterics.

Something needs to be done within the school system to foster restorative justice.

This could have been alleviated if the school had listened and done action based on his initial complain of a white student using the n word. Instead it brushed him aside and he had to hold onto this for a while.

I dont think we should be removing kids from college based off words they say as hs freshman when not these are kids who are not fully developed. There isnt something that has like a quick little sentence about whos in the right and whos in the wrong

She was kicked off her team, kicked out of college, attacked by the New Yorker, and became the center of an Internet hate campaign. Theres also concerns that she lost a scholarship after getting kicked off the team and its highly doubtful shell be accepted anywhere else since it was the money-donating alumni who panicked and demanded her removal. Shes a liability for every school she applies to. Instead of going to college shes held up inside a bedroom in her parents house afraid to go outside.

That damage may not be completely irreversible in some regards. But for now, her life certainly falls into the ruined category.

Community college. Not even remotely the same thing.

Community college is actually a great place to go for the first two years and is generally a great way to get core classes taken care of for a lot less money. A lot of states offer two free years of it.
