wont someone think of the poor CEOs who weren't able to get their 3rd 500,000 dollar bonus this year and had to settle for 300,000 dollars?

This actually reminds me of a situation I had around 2004 or 2005. I was working as a contractor at one of Dell's factories in Round Rock, TX. Normally my paychecks were direct deposited every week. Something happened to the time clock a particular week, so I had to submit my time via paper. I worked 50 hours, so I was expecting a relatively nice check.

I'd normally check my paycheck on my phone every pay day, but for whatever reason I didn't do it at the normal time early in the morning that week. I checked it later that morning and saw that I only got paid for 10 hours. I was PISSED. I was supposed to be going to Atlanta that weekend, and I literally got about $85 deposited in my bank account.

I immediately went to the staffing office they had on site at Dell. I could clearly see that they hadn't submitted all of my hours, but they said I had to go to the Spherion staffing office about 20 miles away to resolve the problem. So I drove over there.

I. Raised. Hell.

I was demanding that they cut me a check for the rest of the money I was owed. They said it was too late to do that and that I had to go back to the office that referred me there to resolve anything. I wasn't going to do that. They then offered to buy me pizza to make it through the weekend until they could pay the rest of my money on Monday. I pretty much had no choice but to wait until Monday to get the rest of my money. I went to Atlanta any way, but I was broke AF and couldn't do anything.

It doesn't look all that bad when you look at the actual pie chart.

Small businesses and unemployment insurance is a giant chunk of it. Not clear what the $160 bill for government is though.

The CARES act paid out an extra $600 a week in federal unemployment benefits in addition to state unemployment payments, for a total of ~$3,800 a month. That's what the government has been giving people to live off of.

If you are crying about only getting stimulus checks, which is entirely different from unemployment benefits, that means you have not lost your job during the pandemic. You are still working, still making income and the government still gave you a check for $1,200.

Now shut the fuck up.

I live in a low cost of living area, so that actually would be rent most apartments locally, but still only one month with not much change left over to be sure. Pretty pathetic.

...but I mean I'll take that over zero I guess.
