So 'skinny fat' has no definition, maybe a little belly, flabbiness around various parts of the body, but would still be considered 'thin' from a distance and can wear small-sized clothing.

Muscle weighs more than fat, and since women are typically shorter as well, a lot of women in America are just weighing too much.

It most certainly does. Thats why I weightlift and I'm overweight as well. But if the guy doesn't have any muscle though....

Look up the different body types: ectomorph, endomorph and mesomorph. It's basically the blueprint for your body structure, how wide and big your bones are. Some people use the big boned excuse for excess weightt; it's actually true.

Likely you're an ectomorph which means you have small wrists, narrow shoulders and just in general a smaller body that most people, especially guys. You will also have a super fast metabolism, so you have to eat like an animal to gain any weight.

I'm an ecto and I used to be 130 at 6'2" which is a skeleton. I had to stick to a ridiculous diet plus started lifting weights and after 2 years I finally made it to 190 lbs which looks a lot better but I'm still somewhat underweight. My chances with girls shot up 1000% though for sure.

If you want to be bigger my advice would be just study these body types, learn the tricks of how to make the best of the one you have and start lifting weights. If you could get yourself up to 180 or so (maybe 10-15 lbs of fat and 20-25 lbs of muscle) you'd look extremely good for your height.

Yeah I have small frame and disproportionately long limbs with a short torso. People think i'm taller than I am. I feel like I need to be like 160-170 to look solid and be bigger than women and on par with most men.
