My old cat had unusually small paws and he would shift all of his 12lbs to one of them when he stood on me. It hurt so much. Just randomly, he hopped down to the ground (like most bulbuls, he prefers to be high up, like on his perch unless he's eating/drinking), put his face in the corner of his cage, propped himself up with his wing, and started breathing heavily. It looked so unnatural, so I picked him up, and although he was still conscious, his body was limp. His beak was wide open and he continued to breath heavily for a long time, so I just held him in my hands for about 10 minutes until he seemed to be back to normal. He hasn't done that again and seems to be fine, but it was scary as hell. I can only feed them and clean their litter boxes, that already took so much effort because of the constant foot pain. This cat constantly bites me, never wants to be petted, and has been a general pain in the ass the three months I've had her. She also likes to be tucked into her little blankets, loves to sit and watch TV with me, and constantly wants a bite of whatever I'm eating. She was heavily sedated yesterday and had a giant cone on her head, but that didn't stop her from climbing up on the couch and harassing me for some of my salad. She's being very sweet today. It used to be the same - frequently hunting or tackling each other (maybe 50% of the time) but now I see it maybe 25%.
