Having finished The Last of Us Pt. II on Friday night I keep thinking to myself how accomplished the game was and how this 30+ hour masterpiece and how the vision to see it realized must have been extremely taxing. The game walks many many fine lines and I think it pulls them off with aplomb.

Neil Druckmann deserves so much praise in my opinion. This man rebooted UC4 development and got it out the door in 2.5 years... After having come off the studios at the time most ambitious title in TLoU Pt I. Before the rave reviews and playing the game for myself I was always slightly wary of if Druckmann could replicate the level of success he had come to enjoy without having Strayley there as the anchor... My doubts were unfounded and my expectations blown away. Give this man the keys to any kingdom he can do it all.

My most anticipated game is whatver this gentleman is doing next. I don't even have to see it or know what it is.

The dude is hands down the best writer in the gaming industry, I don't care what anyone says. My only flaw with him is that he needs to know how to pace his stories better.

Why are you even putting hacks like Sakaguchi and Kojima on the same level of pre-Wii era Miyamoto? (And are you even separating pre-Wii and Wii onwards Miyamoto?)

anyway, in terms of writing, Druckmann is better than Kojima, Miyamoto, Sakaguchi, but so far, you can't really say he's as influential as they are in the gaming industry.

like, his games are probably the best mix of cinematic and action, but that's kinda building off of stuff people like Kojima helped set into motion.
