He addressed the insensitive post in 2018 but the messaged has regained light since he is now taking over the role of host He said he apologized "personally" to those he reached out to him about it as he called it an "inept" joke And now he is facing the wrath of of twitter.. Guy already apologized for the joke to people directly and then publicly in 2018, I dont feel any sympathy for those acting outraged in the present day.

He doesn't look like somebody I want to see host Jeopardy, but I can't say I support this kind of attack on a tweet that was made long ago and apologized for. The never get clean attitude is just an excuse for people want to see successful people fall. It has nothing to do with progress.
That excuse the tweet. If he made it yesterday, I'd say it'd be fair to remove him from a position of hosting. But to dig up something like this and say that he's marked because of it? Screw that. ... Copied to Clipboard!
