Seahorses are the only species of animal on this planet where the male cares for the development of it's young. The females lays eggs in the male's pouch, the male fertilizes them inside of himself, and carries them for 10 to 25 days until they are developed enough for the birthing process.

Italian Artist Salvador Dali never had to really pay for a meal at a restaurant. During his meal, he would get a blank check, and draw something on the back on it. When he got his bill, he filled out the check appropriately and paid with it. No restaurant would ever cash the check because they wanted to keep his original artwork instead, so the money would never come out from the bank.

That would mean they might have sunk into the ground. Considering how slowly it would take for the body to sink into the ground to where only the head is exposed, plus the fact that the ground around it is practically untouched, and the fact it's on a tiny island in the middle of the ocean, just HOW long ago were those things there, and how did they even get there? I mean, the "how" was always a big question, but considering they're 33 feet statues...

Oh, I just think it's fascinating that amongst the folk and symphonies is a small slice of (relatively) contemporary pop culture in the form of a 1950s rock & roll song.

An ancient physician was usually a jack-of-all-trades, but evidence shows that Egyptian doctors sometimes focused on healing only one part of the human body. This early form of medical specialization was first noted in 450 B.C. by the traveler and historian Herodotus. Discussing Egyptian medicine, he wrote, Each physician is a healer of one disease and no moresome of the eye, some of the teeth, some of what pertains to the belly. These specialists even had specific names. Dentists were known as doctors of the tooth, while the term for proctologists literally translates to shepherd of the anus.
