Criminal charges are very hard yes, but civil charges are much easier. The cops may not serve jail time but he could still receive restitution in a civil case. Though it is a small consolation when cops should not have been able to shoot him to begin with. It is insane how easily cops resort to violence in America.

Yeah, I'm not sure if Blake will win either. The cop might face some charges and do a little time because the shooting was unjustified, but I'm not expecting much because Blake lived and he wasn't exactly innocent in the eyes of the law persay, because he walked away without being cleared to go and wasn't following their orders.

If the cops were at all decent at their job they should have never gotten to that point

If they thought he was a threat in any capacity (especially when we see he didn't run at all) they could/should have restrained him. There were at least 3 cops iirc.
