Neighborhoods across the Philadelphia region are experiencing significant delays in receiving their mail, with some residents going upwards of three weeks without packages and letters, leaving them without medication, paychecks, and bills.
The delays come at a time when the U.S. Postal Service is experiencing significant changes. The new Postmaster Generals policies eliminate overtime, order carriers to leave mail behind to speed up their workdays, and slash office hours, which coupled with staffing shortages amid previous budget cuts and coronavirus absences are causing extensive delivery delays.

Customers are past frustrated. For example, in Overbrook Park, which has seen at least four coronavirus cases among carriers in the last month, according to the union, residents are desperate.
Valerie Rice said her mail has arrived only once every two weeks in July. She receives medication for her 25-year-old grandson, who has autism, through the mail. But now it doesnt come on time, forcing her to go to different drugstores across the city, in hopes they have what he needs.

I try to stay by him and pray for life that I have what I need to take care of him, said Rice, 65.
Donald Bullock said he has gone three weeks without his mail leaving 71 letters and three packages, including two paychecks, sitting inside the Overbrook post office, according to his USPS mail alerts.

My friend works at one of the facilities where they're understaffed and have a shit load of mail and packages. He said the routes simply dont get delivered and days old mail just gets recycled back into the system until they can find a newbie to deliver weeks worth of mail in a single day.

All part of the plan. How many mail in ballots wont be received in time to be counted? Most corrupt administration is US history.

Because no one is getting rich off the post office, it's that simple. Mail has to run, so whoever gets the contract to handle it will make a mint. The GOP has wanted to privatize the USPS for decades. Also we have been contracting out some of our military work out to PMCs, which is the first step. A military handled primarily by PMC would be loyal to their contract and not the constitution.
And yes part of this is about intentionally fucking over absentee or mail-in voters.

I live in Philly. It is typical now for packages to say they are delivered, but not actually be delivered, and then show up the next day or two. That all sucks until you learn about our trash/recycling situation atm.

It took Champs sports 2 1/2 weeks to actually get some kicks IN the mail, after that it took like 3 days.

I've also had a 2 day priority package sit in a regional post office in California for 3 days. Ended up taking 6 days.

How would Donald Trump systemically make the mail take longer? Forget that we are fighting a pandemic, everyone is ordering shit online rn if possible, etc.

despite any money we pay for fastest shipping. might need UPS or Fedex now.
post office screwed up my dogs medication.... i had to call the company on my own time to have it sent again. it had the clear address on the label. still say incorrect address.

if anyone asks what medication i have to give my dog, it's apoquil. needed so she doesn't begin eating herself and going bald.

That sounds like a case for privatizing the postal service. Why keep a business running that is inefficient AND operates at a loss? Just more of a burden on my federal taxes.

Speaking of paying for fastest shipping and Philadelphia ironically, I sent some kicks BACK to Snipes/KicksUSA in Philly last week. I paid for 2 day shipping because it was $1 more than regular, and it took them 3 days to get them. All things considered, they made it there in good time.

The post office is not funded by taxpayer dollars, so how would it burden you.

The post office is required to prefund retirement funds 75 years in advance. This equals billions of dollars of postal revenue per year, which then is being spent by the government.
