Thermostat says 73. Thats a little warm, so ill turn it down to 70.

All of a sudden, thermostat says it IS 70, so that it doesnt have to turn on the AC. strange, i didnt feel it drop 3 degrees in 10 seconds.

so ill turn it down to 68. now its forced to run, so the readout jumps up to 75. strange again, i didnt feel it suddenly jump up 5 degrees in 10 more seconds.

is that what energy efficiency is? lying about numbers so that you can just not operate the way i am telling you to?

gonna be ripping all of this shit out this weekend. so dumb.

No, it seems like your thermostat is either cheap or broken. Its funny how you take one broken appliance to mean mass conspiracy.

oh yeah for sure. one broken appliance. not the three independent panels that i just had installed a month ago with my new ridiculous AC unit, all of which have been doing this since i had them installed.

and who said conspiracy? there is a difference between conspiracy, and a stupid shitty design.

i didnt pay out the ass for an Xv20i (that is meant to cool a house twice this size) just to have it bottle necked at some dumbfuck "energy efficient" panels that dont do as they are told lol.

If you think the programmers designed the appliance to purposefully deceive you and put out false information, you are clearly implying its a conspiracy.

Also, youre not smart for buying an oversized unit as that will likely do away with much of the energy savings you would have realized.

Basically, it sounds like you tried to over do it and messed up. Ive literally never had the problem you described with my thermostat.

Your singular anecdote doesnt imply mass conspiracy you dolt.

How else would you describe a company purposefully manipulating and deceiving customers?

For the record kiddo, if a company designed something to be fraudulent, that is the definition of a conspiracy.

Its literally what you are describing. A secret plan by a group to do something unlawful or harmful. Consumer fraud is illegal.

I love how dumbly confident you are. A thermostat which doesnt accurately read temperature and adjusts by the setting of the AC isnt a shitty design. That would be outright fraud.

kk, let me fill the child in here

within the past decade, my wife and i have been going through some health concerns, which are exacerbated by the heat. money isnt really an issue, and the days have been getting hotter, cant return to the condo in new zealand for some time, so it was necessary to get a new unit, which i did.

and again, you are the only one saying conspiracy kiddo, because again, its your schtick to try to decide what the meaning of my words are, beyond the actual meaning of my words. its your thing. i get it, im just not into it, k sweetie?

and holy shit, did that require FOUR replies? or are you just upset that i didnt immediately respond and validate you so you just kept posting in hopes id come back? you know there is an edit button right kiddo?

How is it not fraud to develop a thermostat that doesnt accurately represent temperature? Explain that so I dont repeat exactly what you are saying again.

During the time of yersinia pestis, or what we now call the Black Death or bubonic plague, it was actually known as the great mortality or the great pestilence.

Although, The Jewish community had the same mortality rates from the plague as other cultures, they were often blamed for its spread because plague less frequently infected Jewish communities. Scientists conjecture that two major factors played roles in this.

One, Jewish communities were often forcefully segregated from the other parts of the cities, occasionally with walls/barriers even being constructed. Secondly, because of kosher rules and Passover traditions, Jewish store houses for grain were often kept cleaner than counterparts. This in turn led to less rats which of course harbor plague carrying fleas.

France, much like the United States during Covid-19, had no singular strategy. Some towns completely shut themselves off. Others put practical strategies in place. While other towns did nothing. There were varying results.

It really is interesting to look at Kosher guidelines through the lens of a modern understanding of food safety. With unreliable cooking methods and a lack of meat inspection, pork was indeed a good idea to avoid, due to trichinosis and pork tapeworms being very dangerous. Shellfish, similarly, can lead to paralytic shellfish poisoning if not handled correctly. Using separate dishes for cooking meat is pretty much the only way to ensure you aren't contaminating other foods with said meat if running water and soap aren't readily available, and as you've noted, cleaner food storage is just generally healthier. Some of the guidelines make less sense, which is kind of inevitable when you're talking about something as nebulous as the "wrath of God" because your pre-germ theory society has no other explanation for people dying horribly when they don't follow such rules, but most of the restrictions basically amount to primitive food safety guidelines.

Wait, the T9 according to Honeywell is energy star certified. So basically you got super mad at me for saying it was a faulty unit and now youve installed a different one and it works? Wow, so I was right and you were just being an asshole? Good stuff.

Not entirely. More like a continuation. But its certainly part of it. Throughout history, Jewish people have been regularly targeted or segregated from main stream society. This has led them to be self-reliant, even in isolation. This gave rise to the perception that they are clannish and secretive, when it fact, it was how their religion survived.
