I see videos of what seems like a mediocre combat system and some non serious stuff that seems to make the game a joke but seems like everyone likes it. I care about how good a story is and gameplay. This game has both? What makes it good?

IMO, maybe 6.5-7/10, but that's just going by the main story.

if you also add the side stuff, then 7.5/10.

Gameplay wise 5, story wise 8.

Wtf so Yukuza 0 sucks ass then or is super average? I got it and Kiwami1 and 2 as a package for like $20 something during steam sale. If it's not worth it ill get a refund before I even spend 1 second on it

I think ot would be good if I didn't burn out on 5 others. The Yakuza games I played were a really good experience while it lasted. Im hoping at some point I'll be able to actually enjoy it again

the world is actually really interesting, and the side-missions are often super absurd and hilarious, and the other side stuff (video game arcades, baseball, real estate, hostess bars, etc.) are fun and enjoyable.

it's just that even though you can unlock moves, the gameplay still feels really basic (especially considering how much you'll be fighting) and the game's story is really long, IMO, and some of the stuff didn't really pay off.

but I feel that people who give it a chance will likely enjoy it. I've played through the first five games + 0, so I was also likely burnt out with the series by that point.

9. the beat em up gameplay is fun to me and plot is good enough but the atmosphere and setting and tone elevate it all to something special. best in the series imo

It was my first Yakuza so I wasnt burned out on the formula but I thought the gameplay was an 8 and the story was a 10. I was into it the whole way through

I haven't played 0 yet. I finished Kiwami 1 & 2 and in the process of finishing 4 & 6. Good games, but the cutscenes alone will bore you if you play them back to back.

One of the best games this gen. But yeah it's easy to burn out of the series if you've played a lot of them

0 was great.

The only real criticism I could give is that the pacing in the middle slows down a bit too much. It hooks you real good with the beginning eases you down a bit too much then picks back up as you start nearing the end.
