Weiss has posted a letter of resignation addressed to Times publisher A.G. Sulzberger on her website. In it, she denounces the Times for fostering an atmosphere of stifling conformity and accuses her now-former colleagues of bullying: My own forays into Wrongthink have made me the subject of constant bullying by colleagues who disagree with my views. They have called me a Nazi and a racist; I have learned to brush off comments about how Im writing about the Jews again. Several colleagues perceived to be friendly with me were badgered by coworkers. My work and my character are openly demeaned on company-wide Slack channels where masthead editors regularly weigh in. There, some coworkers insist I need to be rooted out if this company is to be a truly inclusive one, while others post ax emojis next to my name.

Still other New York Times employees publicly smear me as a liar and a bigot on Twitter with no fear that harassing me will be met with appropriate action. They never are. There are terms for all of this: unlawful discrimination, hostile work environment, and constructive discharge. Im no legal expert. But I know that this is wrong.

She is the one that popularized the term Intellectual Dark Web for the group which included Ben Shapiro, Joe Rogan, and Jordan Peterson in it. They championed independent thought. Her resigning is interesting since that group isn't supposed to back down from bullies.

I've heard this take on her as well (mostly from guys like cerno) and as mentioned..she isn't and wasn't perfect. And its a shame the NYT no longer has her. The NYT is a sad shell of its formal self and everyone that is paying attention realizes this. If not, you aren't paying enough attention to this stuff (which is fine...why would you care about journalistic drama?)

Pretty much. The irony is pretty staggering.

That said, only avenue available to her would likely be constructive discharge, which requires some change to have occurred that made continued employment nigh intolerable to a reasonable person. Don't know enough to comment on plausibility of the claim, but her other claims of discrimination fail on their face after a brief foray into NY law (presumably as the forum state) on the matter, and federal law offers no succor either.
