agree--what is important is the govt shouldn't be spending any money on maintenance for them

most of them are unlikely to find buyers though. white supremacy is mostly a belief system of trash who are at the bottom of society and want to make sure there is someone below them. those at the top have no reason to do something so inefficient and wasteful as maintain poorly constructed statues of traitors

is it though? if we recognize that the goal is 'stop spending government money to maintain these statues', do we care whether they are sold for ten thousand dollars or ten cents?

probably the maintenance cost savings in the first year alone makes up the difference between the likely sale price and the 'desired' sale price

also remember most of these statues were not well made. i would guess this one goes for fifty cents, which is about the value of its craftsmanship

You don't need 10-15 statues of the same guy, 3-4 of the better examples is enough to let you get an idea of it. To outright destroy every single one as some sort of cover up seems like a terrible idea. I like how Warner Brother Studios put it, to outright remove/edit the content is to basically say the prejudices never happened. Might as well round up all evidence WW2 took place and eventually the survivors/decendants will be gone, so we can have another Hitler... have some summer camps for those that qualify.

I previously decided against paraphasing a comment I came across some years ago on youtube, because it was pretty yikes. It was someone who claimed to be a white male not understanding why people were so against interracial couples, etc. His reasoning? That's the best way to breed them out. Yep, show your love and care by breeding them out, no ulterior motives here yessiree... I see similiar shit going on with this "destroy it all" so that no lessons can be learned.

??? theyve been expending resources to maintain these statues for over 100 years and many state legislators have spent the time (ie taxpayer money) to legislate that removal is prohibited. Again you are being naive when you act like racism is a lower class issue.

there are books and a public education system to educate people on what the confederacy did. You dont need a statue that glorifies these villains to educate people
