Its going up at least 10 bucks a month, so we can get access to quality channels like CMT, VH1, and BET.

If the base price really goes up to $65 / month with no way to opt out of those additional channels I'll just cancel and go with something else.

Well thats how this works. These networks are licensed in packages and the cost gets spread out to the subscribers. When these networks have their own streaming services or more lucrative deals with other streaming services they can charge more. This is a symptom of streaming just becoming the new cable.

Fubo Tv also increased their prices.

Yeah I got that notification. Ive loved YouTube tv but Im gonna cancel now. The main appeal for it originally was the fact it was cheaper than regular tv. Now its more expensive than it

Yeah, it started out as $35 three years ago at launch, and went up to $40 after about 6 months, which was still amazing, especially considering the unlimited DVR that keeps recordings for 9 months. The service went up to $50 in April of 2019, so in 17 months they have tacked on a 20% increase and then followed that with a 30% increase. According to their info, the providers whose channels are added have an all or nothing clause, so consumers cant opt out of any channels, making the price non-negotiable.
