Not his fault, he knocked a shelf down on it while being wild. Luckily the only damage at all is the pot, somehow not even a scratch otherwise. Anyways...you guys have recommendations? I contacted the manufacturer to see if I can get something OEM, but I also probably need a soldering kit now.

This isn't a difficult fix but there is not such thing as an OEM potentiometer. You're in over your head. Just take it to a pro. You're looking at an hour of bench time, tops. The pot itself will be another $10~.

You need a new knob? Sounds painful.

Did the knob actually crack/split, and are you absolutely certain it no longer functions? If it's just that the knob fell off you could use something to pry that metal back into shape so it still holds the knob.

The first bass I ever got 'brand new' had a dirty pot that would sometimes cackle when I played. We had to re-solder some stuff in order to fix it. This was a Fender JP-90 jazz. So much for American made!

Turns out its a non-solder one that plugs into a circuit board. I knew the pot plugged in that way but figured Id have to solder the wires on. Fixes the soldering issue, but from the company its a $27 pot and I have the knob to replace also. Maybe I can get a cheaper pot and resolder the wires onto it.

The knob is in many pieces, I have no clue how it even happened, it like shattered. The pot is still functional, I just dont know how to pry it back and have it be straight enough. I do really want a new matching knob.

That being the case, contacting the manufacturer to see if they have matching knobs is probably a good idea. Failing that, if you have any music stores nearby you could either photograph the guitar or take it there to see if they have any matches.

For repairing the bent tines, I'd probably use a small flathead screwdriver or maybe a knife to get it started if I didn't have a screwdriver that would fit. It may take a little fiddling but just keep working it until the new knob presses on securely. If you spread them too far, just squeeze them back together slightly with pliers.
