A lot of people are getting so sensitive nowadays. It's insane. Never thought it would be like this 10/15 years ago but it's gotten to parody levels idiocy.

And the worst part is, people are seeming to lose the ability to judge something based on its severity. Everything is zero-policy now which is why cancel culture is so rampant.

I fear the lasting effects of everyones actions. Personally I dont think I'm that smart an individual, at least compared to the average person, but I know I'm not the only one seeing this. Question is, am i in the Silent Majority or the Silent Minority?

Edit: I regret making the topic title with the word 'funny'. I feel as if I should have said 'concerning' because that's how I actually feel.

I think a lot of this social unrest stuff is inflated by people being frustrated by the corona stuff. People cooped indoors all day have nothing to do but stew and reflect on every grievance

I'd like to think if you sat every single person down at a table, one to one, they will be able to see things more clearly.

But something is happening, something is influencing everything. The effects of social media maybe? Mob justice? Virtual signalling? Or a fear to be on the 'wrong side'?

Yeah, there is a happy balance to righting the wrongs of the past and going out of the way to make yourself a victim. I think a lot of people are going full victim route, right wing and left wing.

Thing is, even before the corona stuff it was there. But now that I think about it, you could be right. Lockdown and the fear of a virus has probably worsened the situation and everyones fears.

Climate change might play a role in this... Collective guilt over ruining the planet, plundering resources and all that stuff. idk. Also we live in a world where people have unlimited choices, but there is basically only a small amount of ways to live life, there is no way that doesn't cause anxiety for people.

Yeah people now are the sensitive ones. Not the ones a few generations ago who were so easily offended and so easily terrified of anything slightly outside their comfort zone that a person of a different race than them looking for a bit too long at a woman of their race could fill them with a murderous rage.

This. It's not that society is more sensitive, it's that until very recently only the sensitivities of white men were fully acknowledged and catered to. It turns out that when you start listening to everybody else's concerns as well you find out that there were a bunch of them going ignored.

We are talking about the people NOW so why even bring up the past?

The fact they they are censoring everything now.

Dark elves. They are currently in the discussion of being cancelled. Media is now being changed and its considered that they are in fact, as a concept racist.

Races in DnD. The wizards of the coast being pressured into changing their whole outlook on race attributes. People who were outraged made the comparison of orcs representing black people even though there were already black people in DnD. Its strange that they were the ones to see that comparison even though orcs have nothing to do with black people in the first place.

Not being able to voice a different colour character. This is the whole point of being a voice actor and celebrities coming out to personally apologize for their roles seems wrong.

I'm even seeing discussions of white people not being allowed to write a person of colour in a book?

It seems all we are doing is influencing segregation. Fueling a passionate race war based on misguided ideologies.

This is treading full blown Nazism it is so sad. This is exactly what Hitler wanted, he wanted everything to be one way with no diversity of thought and you could not deviate outside the lines.

Who needs to grow skin anymore when you can just ignore, silence, ban, or cancel people entirely with opinions and subject matter you dont like, or even want to think about?

As long as you can fool people into thinking you're the good guy, and your opinions and demands good also people will bend over, agree and follow no matter how stupid and nonsensical it is.
