I remember doing dishes all the time when I was young until I was able to not have to all the time...

I still live with my mother. I handle most of the lawn work, various maintenance around the house, currently grocery shopping due to COVID-19, my own laundry, and any other tasks that my 77 years old mother should not be doing.

As a kid I did a lot more with helping wash dishes, food prep, religious/cultural holiday celebrations prep, etc. My mother kind of prefer I do not handle these nowadays because I might be too much of a brute and/or she does not like how I wash the dishes.

Still living at home and washing pots, taking out the trash on occasion and cooking at times. I only live with my old man and we both tend to just do our own thing unless it makes sense for both our own things chore wise to be done at the same time such as pot washing. As a kid I didn't need to do anything at home. I did have a paper round but also did odd jobs for the guy who ran the paper shop for extra cash.

Dishes, vacuuming
I had to do my own laundry since i was like 12 or 13, but only my laundry.

I never had to do yard work, but i am sure i would have if we lived in a place that required it when i was in my teens.

I was lazy. I cleaned my own bathroom and would put away dishes. I should have done more, but I feel we all have regrets with how we treated our parents. Mind you, we're a great and loving family, so it's more looking back at how great they were raising us; that's hindsight for ya.

I handled the dishes, the cat box, cleaning up after the dogs, taking out trash, mowing the lawn and various carpentry around the house. My dad didnt care who you were, he just didnt like people taking a break. On the bright side, I can build a porch! On the downside, my dad is a massive asshole for unrelated reasons so I dont talk to him.

I had to work in the broiler houses starting at age 8 or so each summer, also helped feed the cows and help with vaccinating and tagging them. I didn't have to do household chores.

Nothing! When I was told to clean my room I found out that if I just postponed it long enough my mom would come in and do it for me..

Yup, I might have had really bad grades in school, but nobody can tell me I wasn't clever XD

Dishes 2-3 times a week
Weed plucking for a hour on the weekend
Taking the trash bin to the side of the road 1-2 times a month
Occasionally bike riding to the bakery to get their weekend breakfast rolls

That was it
Mum did the vacuuming once a week and laundry and Dad took care of the lawn and home repairs

Basic cleaning stuff. My dad did have a dishwasher when I was in high school, so that wasn't bad. He also gave vacuuming to my sister more because the sound really messed with me.

(IDK if that has to do with my autism or not but it used to really freak me out and spike my anxiety for some reason most of the time. Later on I took to listening to headphones for vacuuming when it still got to me, but we don't have any carpets in this house because whoever had it before pulled up the ones that were here.)

I had to do dusting instead of vacuum, and which was much more work but didn't bother me. Sis complained once and dad asked me to vacuum one week, but that week sis mysteriously didn't do any of her chores. Tried to say I'd be in trouble for her not doing them, and I refused because dad had it written out and knew who was supposed to do what. I pointed out I'd even vacuumed ffs.

Never complained about vacuuming again and everything went back to normal. I think she genuinely thought I was being lazy and then looked at what dusting entailed and realized it was actually the biggest chore on the list.

Of course we cleaned out own rooms.

Sweeping kitchen/bathroom was usually split. Lawn was split between all of us.

When I lived with my mom after that I had my own room/laundry to do, cooking, taking care of siblings, and dishes. I got dishes less over time, in part because I did more cooking and in part because of taking care of a baby.

Still live with mom. I help mow the yard, wash the dishes, do a good bit of cooking, and help her with projects that need doing around the place. Right now were working on replacing a fence that was destroyed by fire a couple years ago.

Sigh, my parents were bordering hoarders, so basically every few months I had to go through and purge their shit to keep the house in a some what reasonable state. My mom also helped me learn how to cook, something I'd do for the family probably three times a week...

I also had to mow the lawn. Super fun in the Floridian sunshine -_-

I used to be with it, but then they changed what "it" was, and now what I'm with isn't it. And what's "it" seems weird and scary to me.

Not much tbh. My mom retired in 1997, and we had money so she often hired a maid service, and even still she was likely to just do any cleaning herself.

Ocassionally i'd get asked to do something, usually trash or dishes. Ocassionally some actual cleaning like vacuuming, washing windows or scrubbing a bathroom.

We also had a lawn service, so I never had to do that.

A year ago, when I was at their house for a few months, I did weekly vacuuming, cleaning one bathroom, and helping with laundry/bedsheets; and then I also helped maintain their property with various kinds of yard work.
